St. Cloud Clearwater RV Park

St. Cloud Clearwater RV Park is a campground located in Clearwater, Minnesota, which is a city found near the Mississippi River and southeast of a larger city, St. Cloud. The business has 102 RV spaces, 3 cabins, and a glamping tent, which are all available from the month of May to the middle of October. According to Mary, one of the owners, there are RV sites that are capable of accommodating big rigs. Mary would like her guests to feel comfortable while they are at St. Cloud Clearwater RV Park. The establishment occasionally hosts events for patrons to participate in. Pets are allowed at the property as long as the pet owners clean up after them and keep them on a leash. The current owner has done much work on the grounds and has updated various amenities such as a swimming pool, a store, and a mini-golf course.

About

St. Cloud Clearwater RV Park offers a variety of different types of stays, including camper sites, cabins, and a glamping tent. There are about 102 RV sites, many of which can be used interchangeably as dry camping units. The RV spaces include a mix of pull-through and back-in options, and the business is capable of accommodating different vehicle types, including big rigs. The majority of the RV spots are gravel, and the rest are grassy. Each site comes with a picnic table and a fire pit. The campground also offers electric hookups with varying amp outputs, including 20, 30, and 50.

In addition to the RV sites, St. Cloud Clearwater RV Park also features a glamping tent, two one-room cabins, and a cabin with a kitchenette and bathroom. The glamping tent is a two-bedroom unit with a deck, table, benches, and chairs.

Guests can participate in many activities located on the grounds of the campground, including a game room with games and a pool table. One can also find two playgrounds and a playing field. There are several courts where people can play different sports as well, such as volleyball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, and mini-golf. Gardens and a pool are a couple of other features that are found on the property. The business hosts weekend activities on a regular basis and has a food truck for patrons' convenience. If people want or need it, they can visit the camp's store, which offers groceries, ice, ice cream, candy, and souvenirs.

There are a variety of attractions in the area that people can spend time at during their stay at St. Cloud Clearwater RV Park. The town of Clearwater includes two disc golf courses and an archery park. Warner Lake County Park is an attraction nearby that includes a beach and a fishing pier. St. Cloud is a larger city than Clearwater that is about 15 minutes away by car and has several attractions, such as flower gardens and a bike path leading to town. Along the bike trail, a few parks can also be found, and Mary explains that the cities are developing more biking routes for people to use at their leisure. The Mississippi River is about a mile from the property as well. Mary also likes to recommend restaurants to her guests. A few that she enjoys mentioning by name include Taco Gringo, Clearwater Travel Plaza, and Clearwater Legion.

Culture

Mary, one of the business's current owners, explains that her goal is to help guests "feel at home and that we want them here." She mentions that one of her main priorities for the establishment is to create a friendly atmosphere where visitors feel valued and comfortable. In an effort to create this desired environment, she and her husband, Eldon, try to engage in personal conversations during check-in and store visits, and they also make a point to visit guests on Fridays and Saturdays to ask them if they require any assistance or have any questions.

The park offers various activities, with some of the more popular ones being the swimming pool, mini-golf, and riding bikes. The business has bikes called fun cycles available for rent as well. Additionally, the park organizes special events such as a carnival and a bike parade during holidays such as Easter, Christmas in July, and Halloween, offering candy and decorating the central area in a more festive fashion.

St. Cloud Clearwater RV Park has several policies that the owners ask visitors to abide by while they are staying at the establishment. Quiet hours begin at 10:00 p.m. each night. Pets are allowed on the property, but the pet owners are to keep them leashed and clean up after their animals. Smoking is permitted on the grounds but not inside the buildings. Mary also asks that guests do not leave cigarette butts on the ground.

There have been many patrons that have stayed at St. Cloud Clearwater RV Park. A few of these previous guests have left reviews of their experiences at the campground. One person who recently stayed at the RV park wrote, "Spots have plenty of space, and many have full hookups. We were in spot 72, and the large tree provided ample shade and protection from the rain. Friday and Saturday nights, they have a food truck on-site for a snack or if you don't feel like cooking." The establishment is open seasonally from May to mid-October. The company's busiest time of the year tends to be during July due to the warmer weather. Typically, the demographic of guests that come to the RV park are families, but Mary also remarks that they receive many retired folk and couples traveling.

History

The history of St. Cloud Clearwater RV Park began in 1972 when the original owners built the campground from scratch. According to the current owner, Mary, they personally planted all of the trees and established the park. Between its opening year and now, there have been multiple owners who have worked on the RV park, including Mary, who purchased the business in December 2012. She and her family are avid campers themselves and wanted to incorporate their favorite aspects of camping into St. Cloud Clearwater RV Park. The establishment is located in Clearwater, Minnesota, and according to the owner, it is found 15 minutes away from St. Cloud.

Mary has made several changes to the property over the years. A few amenities that were updated under her jurisdiction are the swimming pool, mini-golf course, basketball court, and recreational activities such as gaga ball. Other alterations she made in an effort to improve her business for patrons were upgrading the electric system and improving the roads. Signs were also added to help guests better navigate the area. Mary explains, "Whenever we go to our conferences, we always check out the vendors to see what new things they have." Whatever ideas she finds at the conferences, she brings them back to use for her property. While Mary has made a significant number of changes to the establishment, she also mentions that there is constant maintenance to be had, such as having the trees trimmed and keeping the general facilities clean on a regular basis.
