About

The Rising Eagle Resort is located in Minnesota, in a town called Talmoon. The property has six cabins as well as eight RV sites. Each RV site has full hookups with water, sewer, and electricity. Also, the sites have a mixture of 30 amp or 50 amp capabilities. The area surrounding the sites is wooded and the property backs up to Jessie Lake. There are docks on the lake that those who stay at the resort can use to get their boats on and off the water. While Jessie Lake is relatively overlooked it offers low boat traffic as well as a variety of fish.

The cabins on the premises sit very near the lake, and the campsites are more secluded, with trees around most of the sites for RVs and camping. There are two communal firepits near the cabins with wood provided for those staying in a cabin, and each campsite has its own firepit. The firepits at the campsite do not have wood provided, but they can be purchased at the main lodge building.

The main lodge is located near the front of the property. Inside the lodge is pop, ice cream, and pizza. There are also shower facilities and restrooms in the lodge as well as a washer and dryer that guests can use. Outside of the lodge, there are three paddle boats and seven kayaks that patrons of the property can use for free. The boats and kayaks are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Corn hole is also available at the lodge that campers can take back to their sites and use. There is a fish cleaning shake onsite to process catches.

Each of the cabins has a variety of amenities, including air conditioning and heating, a television, and a full kitchen. The occupancy of the cabins ranges from four to seven people depending on the individual unit. The closest cabin to the lake is 58 feet from the lake, and the farthest from it is 138 feet. The owners strive to provide those who stay at the resort with an "at home" feel in the cabins, and each is decorated differently, all fitting in the same theme of modern cabin camping.

Some important policies to be aware of at the Rising Eagle Resort is that there is no smoking allowed inside any of the buildings on the premises, but is allowed in any outdoor area. One dog per unit is allowed as long as it is pre-approved by the owners. If the dog will be staying inside any of the cabins, guests must bring their own linens to cover the furniture that the dog may sit on in order to keep the area cleaner. Any dog brought to the property must be on a leash or in their kennel at all times as well.

Culture

The Rising Eagle Resort strives to be a family-friendly environment where guests can create memories with their children. The owners, the Lambrecht family, hope that those who stay at the property feel comfortable and are able to relax in nature. Many who stay at the resort are fishermen or hunters, as well as families and those who enjoy the outdoors. Those who camp on the premises mention the hospitality of the staff, as well as the family atmosphere and fishing on the lake. One guest mentioned the amenities, saying "It is a pleasant resort for all ages. The owners do everything to make your stay enjoyable. Boats and motors are available for rental or bring your own. Cabins are older, but comfortable with all the amenities of home, including gas fireplaces if it gets chilly. Fun place to relax, and/or family gatherings."

The resort is open from May through November. The busiest season for the business is usually from June through July. While the property does not have any formal event center or host activities for guests outside of the boats and kayaks provided, the resort has been the site for multiple family reunions throughout the year. A large part of the business of Rising Eagle comes from return guests with Adam, one of the owners of the property, saying that approximately ninety percent of the patrons of the campgrounds rebook and come back year after year. In an effort to make rebooking easier for guests, the owners offer 10% off of a guest's next visit to the property if they rebook during their initial stay.

While staying at the premises, the owners hope to have interacted with guests and make sure that they can help in the campsites if needed. They strive to create an environment where all who stay at the property can respect each other and get to know one another.

Rising Eagle Resort is located inside of the Chippawa National Forest. The property is 5 miles from the city of Talmoon Minnesota and is seated on the shores of Jessie Lake. Nearby is also the headwaters of the Mississippi River, Bowstring Lake, and Lake Winnibigoshish. The area around the resort has many smaller diners including Riley's Cannibal Junction and the Gosh Dam Place, which are both burger places that the owners would recommend to guests.

History

The Rising Eagle Resort is a family-owned and operated business. The current owners, Adam Lambrecht and his family, have been running the resort for the past five seasons. They bought the property in 2017 and have been renovating and updating the cabins and surrounding land ever since. The main reason they bought the property is because of Adam. He had grown up visiting the area because his grandparents lived nearby, and had always wanted to run a family-owned campground in the vicinity of his childhood memories. When he turned 40, he and his family started looking in the area for a resort to run that they could keep completely in the family and not need to hire anyone else to help run the establishment, and they fell in love with Rising Eagle.

The property has been a resort since its founding and construction. The Rising Eagle Resort was built in the 19th century. The original owners had only one cabin on the land and over the years the various owners have each added different amenities. During the current owners' time at the resort, they have added air conditioning to all the cabins, televisions, and updated many of the features of the grounds. The current goals of the owners are to continue to modernize and make updates as needed to the sites.
