Quitman RV Park

Quitman RV Park is located in Quitman, Arkansas, which is about a one-hour drive north of Little Rock, Arkansas. The business owns about 10 acres of land and offers 25 RV spaces for visitors to reserve. People can make reservations year-round, and most of the RV sites are available for long-term stays. Each RV site is equipped with full hookups, and the ground is mainly paved with gravel. About 20 minutes away by car, one can find Greers Ferry Lake north of Quitman. South of Quitman is Little Rock, which is much larger and has more attractions that people can participate in if they would like, according to the owner of Quitman RV Park.

About

Quitman RV Park has a total of 25 RV sites available for reservation. The main grounds of the property are flat and primarily made of gravel; neighboring the establishment is a Dollar General and a  wooded area. Most of the RV spaces are intended for long-term stays, though patrons can make reservations for short-term stays as well. Regardless of which space is reserved, they all come with full hookups, which include water, sewage, and electricity. The electrical output is capable of 30 and 50 AMPs of power.

There are several restaurants in town that visitors can visit while they are staying at Quitman RV Park. A few that Roe Reynolds, the current owner of the establishment, recommends are Quitman Catfish Barn, Amigo Loco Quitman Mexican Restaurant, and Fawn and Jeff’s Kitchen. About six miles away from the RV park, one can find Greers Ferry Lake, which offers a variety of water recreational activities. Fishing at the lake tends to be a popular pastime, as the lake, and other large bodies of water, are filled with trout, bass, crappie, and catfish. The capital, and one of the largest cities in Arkansas, Little Rock, is located about an hour away from Quitman. Little Rock has various tourist attractions as well, including the Little Rock Zoo. There are many different museums, each displaying different exhibits. A few that are located in the area are the Museum of Discovery, Old State House Museum, and Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum.

Culture

Roe, the owner of Quitman RV Park, would like his visitors to feel safe during their stay. Due to the fact that the park primarily consists of long-term stays, he wants them to feel “like it’s a small community.” The owner mentions that he is available if people have questions or need help with something, and getting to know the people who come to Quitman RV Park is one of his favorite aspects of managing the property. Roe explains that he does not interact with guests very frequently, often leaving them to do their own thing, and describes the atmosphere of the business as being “pretty laid-back.”

There are several policies that visitors need to abide by while they are staying at Quitman RV Park. Pets are allowed but must remain on a leash and under the pet owner’s supervision. The typical demographic of patrons that visit the RV park tends to be construction workers and those in the area for work or school in the nearby cities. Some of the patrons that have spent time at the park have left reviews of their experience. One person wrote, “It’s a nice and quiet RV park. The price is reasonable, great people own it, and nice people are staying there.”

History

The current owner of Quitman RV Park, Roe Reynolds, purchased the business about 20 years ago, back in 2003. Several changes and updates have been made to the company since he became the owner, with one of the more significant changes being the updated water hookups at each RV site.
