Questa Lodge

The Questa Lodge is located in Questa, New Mexico. The surrounding area is mainly covered with dense forests and rocky mountains, with several noteworthy mountains to the northwest of the property. The Questa Lodge is a family-owned business with over 50 camping slots across their 6 acres of land for visitors to set up camp. The lodge is found just over ten miles to the west of Red River, New Mexico, which is known for being a famous resort town. There are a wide variety of outdoor activities and sights to see in the area that many guests in the past have found enjoyment in.

About

There are a grand total of 55 spots that are available to the public and are open year-round. Of the 55 available spaces, there are six cabins, four tent sites, and 45 RV slots. The six cabins range in size, but they all come with a queen-sized bed(s), a bathroom with a shower, satellite television, as well as a kitchen with a stove, microwave, and refrigerator. Cabins also offer Wi-Fi, dishware, pans, and a coffee pot. Each RV site comes with full hookups, including a dump station, 30 and 50 AMP electric stations, and bathhouses.

Questa Lodge had done some recent road work and the owners are pleased to report that the roads on the inside and outside of the park have been fixed and are significantly smoother than they were before. This was done after receiving feedback, and the changes were made in an effort to improve the satisfaction of the visitors to the property.

Guests of Questa Lodge have the ability to purchase minor RV supplies that they may need during their stay if any essential items were forgotten or require restocking. Amenities that the whole family can take advantage of are as follows: a playground, volleyball and badminton nets, horseshoes, a covered gazebo, a river that has a history of being successful for fishing in, a duck pond and fountain, a barbeque area, and laundry facilities. There is also a pet park for visitors that bring their pets along for the trip where they can play. The Questa Lodge also has a venue for businesses or larger gatherings that wish to hold a special event while they are staying at the lodge. Within the property, there are two man-made ponds that guests have found enjoyable, with one guest saying, "The large pond near the entrance is a great place to walk and relax and watch the geese/ducks."

There are a number of nearby towns that guests are able to explore and travel to while staying on the campground. Several noteworthy towns include Taos, which is only 24 miles away, Red River, which is 13 miles away, and Santa Fe, which is 94 miles away. The Red River—speaking of the river itself instead of the city—flows near the south side of the property, which has produced relatively successful results among fishermen. Questa Lodge also offers its guests the ability to pick them up from the nearby airport if so desired or needed.

The owners' goal with the Questa Lodge is to create a calm and peaceful atmosphere for their guests. Visitors have stated that the staff does their best to create a relaxing and enjoyable environment while they have been on the property. Many guests comment that they were provided with an experience that left them with a desire to come again. Thanks to its location, the lodge has earned a reputation for being a reasonably quiet place to stay and allows guests the opportunity to take a step away from their busy lives and spend some time going camping. Reviews from guests are typically positive, with guests showing appreciation to the fact that the campground isn't a parking lot, that there are large trees, and how it is farther away from the noise created by the freeway.

The town of Questa is smaller in size, with a population of around 1,700 residents. Questa is known for being a good stopping point for travelers going to Red River, New Mexico. The city of Red River is about 20 minutes from Questa and is a popular spot for various summer and wintertime outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy skiing, hiking trails, and horseback riding trails found in different parts of the state, both near and far. The city has a quieter nature to it, and guests have found the seclusion to be relaxing as well as having the potential for more adventurous and thrilling endeavors.

History

The current owners of Questa Lodge are John and Becky Hollander, who have been a couple for various years. Questa Lodge has been around for a reasonable amount of time, considering that it was established in 1975, which was 46 years ago.

Previously, the property was owned by Becky's parents, but then they passed it down to their daughter 16 years ago. John and Becky Hollander have been the current owners of the Questa Lodge since 2005, so it has remained in the family for some time.
