Ozark RV Park

Ozark RV Park

Located in Mountain View, Arkansas, is the Ozark RV Park. The property was recently purchased by Donna and Mark Burton in February of 2022. Since their arrival, the owners have made multiple renovations and upgrades to the premises. The establishment offers 78 accommodations; of these, 73 are RV sites, 4 are cabins, and 1 is an RV rental. RV sites are either back-in or pull-thru, all including full hookups, a picnic table, and a fire pit. Ozark RV Park is open year-round; however, only the pull-thru RV sites are available between December to February, while all the other accommodations shut down during this time. Common areas on the campground include the bathhouse, laundromat, a fenced-in dog park, and a Community Room. Music festivals and concerts are common in the area, and some are often hosted in the property's Community Room.

About

When staying at the Ozark RV Park, located in Mountain View, Arkansas, guests are able to choose from any of the 78 accommodations. Of these units, 73 are RV sites, 17 are pull-thru spots, and the remaining are back-ins. Full hookups are provided with each RV site, in addition to other amenities such as picnic tables, fire pits, cable TV, and wifi. Four of the remaining accommodations are cabins, and the last is an RV rental. The cabin features queen-size beds, a walk-in shower, and a kitchenette stocked with coffee supplies. Donna, one of the owners, remarks that her pull-thru sites tend to be the most popular among patrons due to being able to accommodate larger RVs.

Facilities located on the premises include a laundromat with coin-operated machines, a fenced-in dog park, and shower houses for men and women. Another common area for guests is the Community Room, which musicians in the area often use for performances and events. In total, the campground is located on 10 acres of land next to the Ozark Mountains. Ozark Folk Center State Park is located next to the Ozark RV Park, which Donna remarks are a "big draw" for them. This center is known to host music concerts that draw in musicians. Donna remarks that these musicians will often perform in their own community center during these types of events, in addition to the aforementioned local musicians.

Culture

Owners Donna and Mark Burton have the goal of creating a place at the Ozark RV Park where guests can come and feel "secure and comfortable." To aid in creating the environment, the owners have controlled lock keys on the laundromat and bathhouses and scheduled law enforcement to drive through the campground on a regular basis. Interaction between staff and patrons is also relatively high, remarks Donna.

Festivals and music concerts tend to be common for the property and area in general. Donna says that most of their patrons come for the music festivals and that they are "good, honest, hardworking people that love to camp." Another event in the town would be the Mountains, Music, and Motors Rally, which happens annually in August.

Pets are permitted on the property; however, there are certain restrictions regarding their presence at the campground. Each party of guests is only permitted two animals while staying at the Ozark RV Park and are required to clean up after them. Another policy for the business is that visitors need to give at least a two-week notice for cancelations unless it is during a festival, which must be a three-week notice instead. Occupants are expected to adhere to the campground's quiet hours starting at 10:00 PM, although the owner remarks that they are a "quiet park" that tends to have quieter patrons in general.

The RV park is open year-round; however, the only accommodations available between December to February are the pull-thru RV sites. Spring and fall tend to be the busiest season of operation for the Ozark RV Park due to this being the time when most festivals and concerts are happening in the area. The owners have noticed that the typical demographic of people usually falls between the age of 35 to 80. Though, the property still receives a relatively fair amount of children. Donna notes that repeat guests are common for the Ozark RV Park, especially during the various festivals and concerts in the area.

Ozark RV Park is known for its "beautiful trees, cleanliness, professionalism, [and] level sites," says the owner. One review left by a guest remarks, "The campground was perfect for our first time to enjoy the Bluegrass and Fried Chicken Festival. The campground and bathhouse were very clean, and the grounds were well-kept as well. We camped on site 34, and it was great to be so near our venue at the Ozark Folk Center and The Skillet Restaurant." Donna notes that a unique aspect of the acreage is right next to the Ozarks Folk Center State Park.

Other nearby attractions include the town square and Blanchard Springs Caverns, which is a 15-minute drive from the property. The caverns are located underground and are also situated within a national forest. Biking, hiking, and swimming in the rivers are common activities to do in the forest. White River is also located about five minutes from the campground and is often utilized for fishing, swimming, and kayaking, among other recreational activities. Anglers Restaurant, Wing Shack-Cheeseburger Grill, and Spah Grill Mountain View are Donna's top three recommendations of places to eat. She also remarks that all of these options are located relatively close to the campground.

History

For over 22 years, the Ozark RV Park has been in operation in Mountain View, Arkansas. Donna, one of the owners, remarks that the surrounding area was built on "folk music and bluegrass music," which she says draws in a high amount of musicians from "all over the country." Furthermore, the owner says that the town is known as the "folk music capital of the world."

Andy and Virginia Rutledge were the prior owners of the RV park, with the property's website stating that they were the previous owners for over 20 years and "if the ground and wall could talk - there would probably be a lot to say and great stories to tell." Donna describes Andy as a "big musician" and that this is something guests often knew him as. Donna and Mark Burton purchased the campground from the previous couple in February of 2022. Before owning the Ozark RV Park, Donna worked in property management until she and her husband visited the area and "fell in love" with it. Since purchasing the Ozark RV Park, the owners remark that they love working with the people who come to stay at their establishment. Donna says that "the people are so genuine" and enjoys seeing them come for the aforementioned bluegrass music.

Since the current owners arrived at the park, they have made various updates to the premises. Such changes include renovating the cabins and offices, expanding the RV sites, adding high-speed internet, and making the roads gravel. There are no specific future plans for the business, besides keeping it up-to-date and current with the times.
