About

Newfound RV Park offers a total of 47 units, consisting of 45 full hookup RV sites and 2 primitive tent sites. The RV sites are a mix of pull-through and back-in options, with back-ins sites available. Of all the RV sites, 45 are equipped with full hookups, and the pads are made of gravel. Additionally, nine sites are designed for larger rigs. Each site also includes a picnic table, cable TV, and access to water, electric, and sewer connections. Some sites at Newfound RV Park are more popular than others, according to the owner, with five sites being particularly sought after.

The park offers additional amenities such as a laundry facility, a clubhouse, a volleyball court, and various games such as cornhole and Giant Jenga in an enclosed pavilion. Guests can relax in the enclosed pavilion, which includes couches with TVs. Found on the property is an outdoor community area that includes a fire pit, games, and a stage for music and other entertainment. A coin-operated laundromat is also available. An office with a store where basic RV supplies and items such as ice cream are sold can also be found on the premises. The property itself is surrounded by trees, with most sites reportedly receiving some shade from the trees, according to the owner, Bob. Some sites are situated in relatively wooded areas, while others are located near more grassy spaces. As the property is seated on 14 acres of land, Bob also reports that there are areas on the grounds where events such as weddings can take place.

Culture

Newfound RV Park is situated in an area that offers diverse attractions and activities for visitors to enjoy. Bob, the owner of the property, said, "Our location offers the best of both worlds. We're in the lakes region, but the mountain region starts just 15 minutes away. From here, guests can explore the entire state on a day trip, whether they want to visit a city, go hiking, or enjoy the big lakes." One of the features of the property is its proximity to various natural areas, including lakes, mountains, and beaches. Newfound Lake, located a few minutes away, is consistently ranked as one of the top ten cleanest lakes in the United States, according to Bob, the owner. Guests can relax on the lake's beaches, go boating, swimming, fishing, or engage in water sports such as kayaking. The campground's location in the lakes region of New Hampshire allows guests to explore not only the lake but also the surrounding mountains if they desire. Within a relatively short drive, visitors can access the nearby mountainous region of the White Mountains and Mount Washington, offering opportunities for hiking, biking, and picnicking.

For families with children, there are several attractions nearby that may cater to their interests. Clark's Bears offers train rides and trained bear shows. Additionally, various scenic railroads, including the Mount Washington Cog Railway, offer a unique way to experience the mountains. The surrounding area also features a variety of relatively small towns and villages that can be visited by guests. Attractions in the surrounding towns include browsing local shops, trying out different restaurants, and learning about the history of the area. In terms of dining options, the Bridgewater Inn and Newfound Lake Inn are two establishments the owner recommends within the immediate vicinity of the campground. The Refinery Restaurant, located approximately 20 minutes away, is also recommended by Bob and offers barbecue and steak dishes.

Newfound RV Park has established several policies to try and ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience for all guests. Some of the key policies include a quiet time starting at 10 p.m. and restrictions on certain dog breeds due to insurance regulations. Additionally, some policies are in place to maintain the condition of the campground, such as prohibiting the placement of carpets on the grass to preserve its quality. By enforcing these policies, the campground aims to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment where guests can relax and make the most of their stay.

During a stay at the campground, Bob hopes that guests can feel comfortable and welcomed. He said, "We want our guests to enjoy the experience of the area and the campground and have a good time.” To provide an environment conducive to the experiences Bob hopes his patrons can have, he tries to be hospitable to those staying at the property and assist them if needed. "We aim to provide a personal touch to our guests' experience. We're small enough to walk around, chat with people, and address their needs,” he said. Those who have previously stayed at the establishment often comment on the hospitality Bob and the staff of the campground provide, as well as the overall location of the park. One former patron said, “This is a beautiful campground with a stream, a walking trail, and clean bathrooms. The sites are good-sized and feel spacious and private. The owner is friendly, helpful, and attentive.”

History

Newfound RV Park has a history that dates back to the year 2003 when it was first established as a campground. The original owner of the campground was Richard Halberg, who still resides in the nearby area. The current owner, Bob Coco, took over operations of the campground in 2020. The decision to purchase the campground came about after Bob was forced to close his other business in New Hampshire due to COVID. Seeking a change and inspired by his previous camping experiences, he sold his house and began a new venture as the owner of Newfound RV Park. Since taking ownership, Bob has made various changes to the campground. He shifted the focus from predominantly seasonal campers to a more recreational campground, hoping to cater to a wider range of campers.

Bob has tried to prioritize the upkeep and improvement of the property. During his time at the property, he has worked on regrowing grass, painting, and updating the internet and Wi-Fi systems. In the future, he plans to continue informing his guests about the variety of outdoor activities in the surrounding area and keeping up with the maintenance demands as they come up.
