Monarch Ridge RV Park

Monarch Ridge RV Park is found in the city of Rimrock, about an hour east of Prescott, Arizona, just off of Highway 27, and can be located in the heart of three national forests. The RV park has 24 RV sites available to the public that are open year-round. While the town of Rimrock is in the middle of many trees, there are also several larger towns, such as Prescott Valley and Flagstaff, that are less than an hour away by car. There are a wide variety of places that guests can explore between this city and the others, like a casino, wineries, golf courses, and even a wildlife park.

Lake Montezuma is one landmark that can be found near the center of Rimrock, which is south of Monarch Ridge RV Park, which can be reached in less than five minutes by car. On the road leading southwest from Rimrock, one can find Montezuma Castle National Monument and going the opposite direction; there is an extension of the monument known as Montezuma Well.

About

Monarch Ridge RV Park hosts 24 RV sites on their three acres of property in Rimrock, Arizona. Every site at the RV park is dedicated to RVs, meaning that there are no tent sites or dry camping spots available. Each RV site comes with full hookups, including water, electrical, and sewage stations. The RV sites are 30 by 60 feet in size, with an extra 10 by 20 feet for a car. The RV Park owners understand the difficulty of backing in trailers, so the establishment has two U-shaped roads that allow trailers much easier access when coming and going to the property and their sites. The property also has its own Wi-Fi set up that is accessible to those who are staying.

Due to the location of Monarch Ridge RV Park, there are several different national monuments and forests that are about an hour away. One unique place would be the Out of Africa Wildlife Park, which allows visitors the chance to go on a Safari-themed expedition where they can see animal exhibits. For guests that want to explore the more local scenery, they can travel to one of the trails and hike to some of the more well-known mountain points and forests. There are a few golf courses noted on the website, the first one being Agave Highlands which is less than 20 minutes away by car. A similar distance away is The Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort.

Several noted restaurants that the owner recommends in the area include El Patios, Thai Gardens, Robbie's, and Storytellers, which is a restaurant located at the Cliff Castle Casino. The casino is located less than ten minutes away to the southwest from Monarch Ridge RV Park and offers gambling, restaurants, bowling, and more. Also available for visitors that are looking to get away from the city are activities like hunting, fishing, hiking, kayaking, and horseback riding.

Culture

The goal of Monarch Ridge RV Park is to create an atmosphere that is both relaxed and quiet that can be found right in the middle of town. The owners ask that guests be respectful of business and permanent residence within earshot, and to help others have an easier time finding peace and quiet while on the property, the park has established several rules and regulations.

Monarch Ridge RV Park does enforce a quiet time that extends from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Smoking is permitted, but only within guests' own RVs to help neighboring spaces maintain cleaner air quality. A maximum of two dogs per space is allowed in the park, but the owners ask that they are kept on a leash at all times. There is a dog-run area for the dogs to have a bit more freedom, as long as they are friendly with the other dogs and guests. One thing that the owners of Monarch Ridge RV Park have put in to add to the relaxed nature they aim for is a picnic area where guests can enjoy an outdoor meal.

Though the park was only recently built, the property has received a number of reviews, with one such review reading, "Small well-maintained park with easy access from the interstate. It has been open just a year. It was created from the ground up by the present owners, and they've done a great job. Well designed with wide paved roads and nice landscaping. All sites are good size back-ins with crushed stone landing pads and cement patio. Large clean fenced dog park set up on a hill accessed by a path with some stairs. Let your dog run while you soak in the beautiful views from the top. If you're not up for the exercise there is a smaller dog walk at the bottom."

History

Before the lot was known as Monarch Ridge RV Park, it was nothing more than a dilapidated house that had initially been built in the 1960s, and untrimmed grass, dirt, and shrubs. The current owners of the property, whose names are Jennifer and Tanner, bought the lot and tore down the house that occupied the space, doing much of the conversion themselves. Tanner has experience in construction and excavation, so building the RV park and investing in real estate was a great way to supplement their income. Once the building was completed, they opened their gates to the public in November of 2019.
