About

Green Acres RV Park is located in a town called Savannah in Tennessee. The property is about 13 acres large and has many different aspects to it that all visitors to the property are free to take advantage of. At the RV park, there are 50 different RV sites available for guests to choose from as they stay on the grounds. All but one of these sites are full hook-up sites, providing electricity, water, and sewer services to all who park their RVs here. All of these sites also have televisions and Wi-Fi available to them. Some of the sites are back-in sites, while others have pull-through access. There is a trash pick-up every morning at the separate RV spots so that the visitors on the property don't need to transport their trash elsewhere.

There are showers, restrooms, a small coin-operated laundry room, and a small office on the property. The office also has a store inside of it, which sells cans of food or simple meals, some condiments, some laundry products, and a few shirts and hats for those looking for memorabilia. Soda and RV supplies are also sold at the store.

There is an abundance of grass on the grounds that guests can use to participate in a variety of sports or outdoor activities. The property is pet friendly, allowing everyone who would like to bring pets to accompany them while they stay at the property to do so. There are three different animal stations throughout the RV park that provide bags to clean up after the animals and trash cans to throw away the waste. Guests are free to walk their animals anywhere around the property, but the owners do ask that guests have their dogs on a leash at all times.

Every site has its own picnic table provided; guests are free to use it for eating meals, playing games, or talking with friends, family members, or other guests to the grounds. There are also six fire pits that can be rented out at the store, where some firewood can be purchased for those who are hoping to spend some time around the fire telling stories or making desserts. A saltwater pool can also be found on the property. Guests are free to use the pool at their leisure if they would like to spend some time in the water instead of out on the grass or at their own RV spots.

There is a pavilion on the property that can be rented out to guests for weddings, sporting events, family reunions, or whatever other event guests would like to host. The pavilion can also be used for the same purposes as the provided picnic tables or as a place to find some shade on a sunny day.

There are several attractions and places to visit in Savannah, Tennessee, and its surrounding areas. One popular attraction to visit is a local museum. Near the property, just a few minutes' drive away from the Green Acres RV Park, there is the Tennessee River Museum. This specific attraction is home to exhibits from pre-historic life, Native American history, Civil War artifacts, and more. Many families that visit the RV park have visited the museum for a unique experience with their families and friends. Shiloh National Military Park is another place that people can visit. Today, it stands as a testament to a battle that happened in 1862, where many people fought and suffered. Many tours are offered here where people can see actual battlefields and more.

A couple of other unique places to visit in the area are Cherry Mansion and Pickwick Landing State Park. For a glimpse back into the Pre-Civil War era, Cherry Mansion is a place that visitors can go to to take a tour of the historic building. During the Battle of Shiloh, Cherry Mansion served as the headquarters for General Ulysses S. Grant. Pickwick Landing State Park is also a short drive away from Green Acres RV Park. People visit here for the water recreation on the lake and river and for picnicking, birdwatching, and nature hikes. Many people also enjoy fishing here, hoping to catch one of the catfish that the area is known for.

Culture

Many different events have been held at Green Acres RV Park in the past, including a large barbeque special event that happens at the end of every September. Kansas City sanctions this event and rents out much of the property's acreage for it. People from all around the southern United States have come to this event to participate in the barbequing. Other events generally consist of whatever a guest can do when renting out the pavilion. Guests have used the pavilion for weddings, sporting events, and family reunions, among other things. In the past, a few high school teams have even used the pavilion for reward banquets and activities for the kids on various sports teams. Rallies are also occasionally hosted on the property, where sizable groups of guests rent out a large portion of the property and hold many different activities.

The owners hope to keep the property quiet, clean, and comfortable for all of their guests. "We're not rowdy by any means; it's just a nice, safe place... to come and stay," says one of the owners. Additionally, the owners strive to have southern hospitality. They hope that the guests who stay with them don't feel crowded, but instead that they will feel that they have a lot of space and that they will feel safe and comfortable. More specifically, they try to help them feel this way by taking every guest directly to their site when they first show up to their business. From there, they frequently explain some of the amenities that are available to every guest and make sure things are working properly at their site. Afterward and throughout the rest of the guests' stay, the owners make it an effort to be available in the event that a guest develops any concerns. The owners go around the property as often as possible so that guests can see them and get to know them better.

Many of the guests who have stayed at this property before have left reviews about the cleanliness and general comfortability of the premises. One guest mentioned, "this is one of the best parks we've stayed in. The owners are so nice, and the grounds are exceptionally well maintained. The facilities are spotless." According to the guests who have stayed at the property, Green Acres RV Park is known for its atmosphere. One guest mentioned that "the campground is immaculate. They take really great care of everything. The laundry room, bathrooms, and showers were spotless. The staff is extremely friendly and very accommodating." Many of the other reviews left by guests have iterated similar themes.

The owners ask that guests will follow the policies that are listed on their website. A couple of these policies include following the speed limit on the property, which is ten miles per hour, and following a quiet time, which is enforced from 10 PM to 8 AM every day. RVs are free to be washed on the property, though the owners ask that guests conserve the amount of water that they use. No generators or fireworks are permitted on the property.

Green Acres RV Park is open year-round for visitors to come and stay at. The busy season for the business tends to be from the beginning of March until the end of October. Many of the guests who stay at the property enjoy doing so for the entire winter if they are able to so that they won't need to endure the larger amounts of snow at their various hometowns. Other guests, however, enjoy coming to the area in the summer so that they can go and visit the rivers, ponds, and lakes throughout the area. Other guests have been there for very long periods of time, using the park as more of a place of residence. All of these guests include a variety of different demographics, but most of the guests who visit the property are in their 50's or older.

Many of the guests who visit Green Acres are on their way to somewhere else for a vacation, but others have decided to stay at the property and explore what the area offers. Some people have come to the area to golf, play disc golf, visit the home of Helen Keller, visit museums, and explore additional attractions. Other guests have come for the fishing tournaments that occur in Tennessee, including the Bass Master fishing tournament. Many people say that Savannah, Tennessee is the catfish capital of the world, bringing an abundance of people who strive to catch the biggest catfish that they can find.

If guests are looking for places to eat, the owners of the property recommend a few places that they should visit. The first of these places is Hagy's Catfish Hotel Restaurant, which specializes in seafood. The second is Sombreros Mexican Grill, which serves Mexican food. The last place that they typically recommend is the Outpost Pickwick Dam, which serves all meals throughout the day. The owners also recommend some places to visit while patrons are in the area. Some of those recommendations include the Buford Pusser Home and the Helen Keller Home mentioned above. The property of Green Acres RV Park is also located near some of the bigger cities that people have frequently visited. It is only two and a half miles south of Nashville and two hours east of Memphis.

History

The owners of Green Acres RV Park have owned the property for three and a half years now, having bought it in 2018. The current owners came into the lodging industry because they have always enjoyed managing properties and helping other people that they come across. They had been managing a few different properties for some time before purchasing the RV park. They decided that they wanted to continue doing more of what they loved doing and incorporate their enjoyment for RV's and camping. They felt that managing and running an RV park would be ideal for them, so they found Green Acres RV Park and purchased it. They have always loved meeting the various types of people who stay at their property, learning their stories, and eventually becoming their friends. Getting to know those who own and use RVs has always been unique to the owners, so they strive to learn about their guests as best as they can.

The property itself was built around the 1980s and has been used as an RV park ever since it was built. There have been a few owners to the property, every one of them making their own changes and additions that have made it what it is today. The current owners have made many cosmetic changes and plan on doing more whenever necessary. Some of the changes they have already made include redoing the shower room, renovating the laundry room, adding sidewalks, and improving the sites that the RVs are located on. They also gave themselves more of an online presence, which was not as important to the property's previous owners. There are no major future plans for the property yet, but the owners plan to keep the property up to date.
