The property is open year-round and accepts a large variety of guests.

About

At Goldwater Estates RV Park, there are a total of 98 available sites for guests to choose from during their travels. Besides these sites, there is a clubhouse that can be utilized that contains a few things to do, including a pool table and a television. The main office is also located inside the clubhouse, with Wi-Fi available for those who may need it. There are multiple activities available to patrons on the grounds of the park, most being located in the clubhouse. Some of these activities include bingo, board games, or putting together puzzles that are available to guests. There are also occasional potlucks and other activities put on inside of the building. Additionally, there are laundry facilities and showers available for all those who stay at the property.

For those looking for things to do away from the property, Nilda, the manager of the business, gives guests maps with places that they can bike throughout the area and tells them about some of the things that they could do nearby. The Goldwater Estates RV Park is near many things that people can visit. The property is about 2 miles away from downtown Yuma, a couple of miles from the Wetlands Park and Colorado River, and it is right next to the canal where the manager recommends people spend some time during their stay.

One unique aspect of the grounds of the property is the fruit trees that Nilda planted. Another unique part of Goldwater Estates RV Park is its pet policy. Nilda says that they are very pet friendly, hoping that their guests feel free to bring their animals with them on their travels. She gives every patron a key to a door that opens up to the canal next to the property, which can be a convenient place for them to walk their dogs or ride bikes at. Overall, Nilda says that the quiet nature of the property is the most unique part of Goldwater Estates RV Park.

Culture

Nilda, one of the managers of the property, says that Goldwater Estates RV Park is "very quiet, friendly, and clean." She says that she loves her park and strives to be close to all of the people that come through. Nilda comments that she likes to feel at home when she is traveling which is why her goal is to make the property one that creates an atmosphere where her visitors feel at home.  "I don't want [people] to feel uncomfortable," she says, regarding helping people feel at home. "I do whatever I can to help them." One guest mentioned some of these aspects when saying, "We spent two months at this park. The manager was very accommodating, and everyone was very friendly. We loved the proximity to hiking and biking trails. It is a very quiet park. Convenient to shopping area." Another patron said regarding the overall atmosphere of the property, "It's quiet and clean, and Nilda and Barry are terrific people. Anything you need, just ask, and they will help you. Great clubhouse with a lovely kitchen with tables and chairs. Baths are nice and clean; the laundry room is spacious and has a clothesline outside in case you want to air dry."

The area itself has many trees and a couple of parks nearby. Fishing is a common activity for people in the area, as well as shopping and some exploring. The city of Yuma, Arizona is close to the RV park, which has many restaurants and shops available for those looking for such things. Nilda recommends that her guests take time to visit this and other cities that are nearby, while also giving her opinion on a handful of places that they may enjoy eating at. Some of these locations include Brownie's Restaurant, Daybreakers, and Manjares De Pepe, which serves all three meals in a day but closes around 7:00 in the evening.

Goldwater Estates RV Park is open every month of the year. According to the manager, the best season of operation for the business is from October through April. There is a seasonal rate during those months that is attributed to drawing in higher amounts of guests. About 57 of the sites are used for yearly and seasonal tenants, and the rest of the sites are used for those that are visiting for shorter periods of time. Some of the patrons that have stayed at the property have come back many times. The demographic of these and other visitors range widely according to the manager. There are people that live on the property as tenets, all of which are 55 or older, but besides the long-term guests, those who visit the RV park can stay up to a month. For those who stay yearly, the price of rent per month is $325. For those who stay seasonally (from October to April), the rent is $2,344 total. Other rates are included for those that are staying for only one night, one week, or one month, those being $35, $210, and $630, respectively.

History

The current owners purchased Goldwater Estates RV Park in June of 2018. The corporate company that runs the business is Goldwater Estates, which has a few other RV parks under its care. The property itself has existed for many years, probably starting sometime in the 1900s. It was known by the name of The Hitching Post by previous owners but was changed at some point in the 2000s to what it is today. Nilda, the manager for Goldwater Estates RV Park, has held the position since 2019. She says that her favorite part of working on the property is talking to the various people that come and visit the area.

Some changes that have been made to the business and the grounds in the last few years include the addition of a garden and flowers throughout the area and even the demographic of guests, which are all screened before entering the RV park. Nilda tries to keep things up to date and continually improving so that all of their visitors can have an experience that she hopes will be memorable.
