One particular accommodation that is often made for patrons is being ADA compliant with the main building; they will also accommodate the site preferences of guests to the best of their ability.
A small highway that expands all the way to Canada is located near the park; however, according to Marion, the park manager, the property has a privacy fence that muffles the sound. The RV park is also located three miles from a lake, a race track in town, and a fossil dig site. Unique features specific to the property include a community fire pit that is often used for bigger groups and outside games. There is also a teepee on the premises that is able to be rented out.
The clubhouse is open for guests to host events on the property. One common activity that is held is bible studies led by patrons. Policies at the Gold Mountain RV Park include guests being courteous to other visitors and keeping their sites clean. Non-aggressive dog breeds are permitted on the premises and the same policy applies to cats and any other animals that are able to stay in the RV. Quiet time at the park falls from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM every day.
Marion, the RV park’s manager, has said that the goal of the property is for guests to feel welcome and be able to have a relaxing time. Their goal aligns with the motto, “Come as a stranger, leave as a friend.” Management says that Mountain RV Park is a quiet park where visitors come to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Marion reports that in an attempt to ensure that patrons feel this way she tries to give them their space during their stay while still being available for whatever their needs might be. She also says that the property is "the best-kept secret RV park in the northwest."
One of the unique aspects of the park includes a 130 foot long RV site that can provide easier access for RVs. Another popular aspect of the property is the Teepee that is available to rent. Management has noticed that guests leave positive reviews about their property. One patron specifically mentions that “The park is gorgeous. Lovely trees provide shade and green grass everywhere. The clubhouse was clean and offered all the amenities you will need.” Marion mentions that she wishes visitors knew more about their sites and the "friendly big rig nature" they all offer.
Gold Mountain RV Park is open year-round, with the best season of operation falling during the summer months, specifically July and August. Typical visitors of the property are usually coming from the coast around the Seattle area. Most patrons are older, with the occasional younger generations coming usually to visit their families in the area. People who visit the Republic Washington area are typically coming to explore the region because they haven’t been to the area before. The surrounding city offers hiking trails, recreational lakes, and ATV trails. Other attractions include Stone Roads Fossil Dig Site, which is about three miles away from the RV park, as well as Jeff’s Republic, an old mining town. Overall, the area is known for being rich in gold and is expecting mines to open to drill for gold. During the wintertime, the establishment provides visitors with maps of groomed snow trails. Marion recommends guests who are looking for places to eat to try Stevo’s Pizza, Naughty Pine, and 18 North, which just recently opened up.
The Gold Mountain RV Park was established in 2013, the main building on the premises was added a year later in 2014. Upon purchase, they converted it into an RV Park. According to Marion, the Gold Mountain RV Park is a relatively young park where they are looking to grow and improve each year of operation. One future plan of the property includes the new hosts putting on a show once a month for patrons. Another plan is to plant more trees on the property to provide more shade for visitors to the park.
The current owners were led to enter the lodging industry because of the opportunities it opens. First, the owners owned the shop right next to the RV park called Owen’s and Sons LLC but eventually were able to purchase the lot as well and convert it into the Gold Mountain RV Park. There have been a number of changes that have been made to the premises since it was purchased, such as the addition of new sites, as well as water and sewer connections to existing units. According to the manager, the RV park is always looking for new ways to improve and grow. There is an expanse of land up the road from the park that the owners have thought about adding a garden or gazebo guests can walk to if they please.
