For guests that already have their own equipment, there are also pull-out access areas. Other on-site activities include volleyball, tetherball, picnicking, and fishing. Either by fly fishing or by casting directly from the riverbank, patrons have caught species such as golden trout, rainbow trout, and crappies. Frandy Park Campground has a small store in the center of the property, offering camping essentials such as firewood and ice, as well as snacks, toys, games, candy, ice cream, and soda.

Culture

One of the primary goals of Frandy Park Campground is to cater to family demographics. Many of the features of the campground were designed with the intention of hosting large groups, and the varying events that are hosted on-site help to build the "community" of the property. Some examples of activities at Frandy Park include movie nights every Saturday and Wednesday evening.

The property has grown over the years to allow for more of these groups to stay on the grounds at any given moment. Recent improvements to Frandy Park include remodeling the restrooms, adding more hook-up sites, clearing new land, including the ability to rent out cabins, and updating the campground store. Visitors to Frandy Park Campground frequently mention the improvements that are being made to the campsites, the size of the RV sites, the personable attitudes of the staff, and the proximity to the river. One guest left the following review: "Frandy is a great park right on the Kern River and right in the center of town. The management is extremely professional and the facilities are kept up very well indeed. There is plenty of room for every RV size."

The city of Kernville is known for its assortment of outdoor activities, antique shops, and "quaint restaurants." There are several places to golf within Kernville and the surrounding region, one of which includes the Kern Valley Golf Course. Speaking of the distinct businesses and attractions around the area, one guest said, "There's all sorts of businesses outside of the campground, even a grocery store. Overall I think the campground is located in a great spot."

History

Frandy Park Campground was initially established in 1990. Over the years, it was passed down through the family until eventually ending up in the hands of Beverly Demetriff in 2005, who is the current owner today. Beverly entered the lodging industry when the campground was passed down to herself and her husband. She dedicated herself to making it a larger attraction than it had been in the past. Many of the improvements that have occurred at Frandy Park Campground have been a result of that dedication.
