Enlow RV Park

Enlow RV Park

Enlow RV Park is located in Thornton, Arkansas just off of Highway 79. The four-acre property has a total of ten spaces available for patrons to reserve. Each of these spaces comes equipped with full 30 and 50-amp hookups, a concrete pad next to the gravel space, and wireless internet access. One popular attraction for those who visit the area is the Cotton Belt Festival, which happens every year in Fordyce in April. This festival has a variety of activities including a softball tournament, garden party, steak cook-off, and other activities. According to Lori, the owner of the park, many of her patrons are repeat guests and her busiest season generally occurs between fall and winter. Many reviews of the property mention its proximity to various local attractions, the cleanliness of the spaces, and the quiet nature of the area.

About

Located next to Highway 79 in Thornton, Arkansas is the Enlow RV Park. The property is four acres in size and has a total of ten spaces available for guests to reserve. Each site has full 30 or 50-amp hookups and all are back-in spaces. Some of the spaces are leveled off with gravel and every space has a concrete pad next to the RV spot where visitors can set up camping chairs and tables if they wish. Wireless internet connection is also available throughout the park. When guests arrive, Lori asks that they check-in at the park’s main office.

The rest of the property’s acreage contains some natural features that guests are free to explore if they wish. Towards the back of the park, there is a pond and some trees provide shade for the RV spots during the more sunny parts of the day. Behind where the RV units are located there is a large field where patrons can use any sports equipment they brought with them such as footballs or soccer balls. The entire park can be reserved by large groups for events, such as family reunions or church gatherings. When visitors accumulate trash, some trash bins are located by the RV park’s sign where their trash can be thrown away.

One of the events that the region is best known for is the Cotton Belt Festival, which takes place every April in the nearby town of Fordyce. A large number of activities are held at this festival that guests can attend in celebration of the area’s history of growing cotton. Due to the park’s location next to Highway 79, there are some other attractions that tourists can visit in both Fordyce and south of the park in Camden. Some of these are the Camden River Walk, the McCollum-Chidester Museum, and Sandy Beach Park in Camden, as well as the Dallas County Museum, Fordyce Country Club, and Fordyce Parks and Recreation facilities in Fordyce. For those interested in old architecture, the Charlotte Street Historic District in Fordyce has a number of historic houses that tourists can observe. Further away, visitors can also find the Johnny Cash Birthplace Monument in Kingsland, which is a popular attraction for fans of country and rock and roll music. When guests ask for places to eat, Lori recommends they try Red’s restaurant in Fordyce for homestyle dishes.

Culture

A considerable portion of those who stay at Enlow RV Park are repeat guests, according to Lori, the owner of the park. Most of her visitors typically consist of tourists, hunters, and people working in the region. She says that she wants guests to make themselves at home while they are staying on the property. When patrons first arrive, Lori will tell them about things to do in the area and point out some key attractions. Should any additional needs come up, Lori lives on the property to assist guests; however, she says she will usually step back to allow the people staying there to experience the area and the park at their own pace. Some people who have stayed at the property in the past have appreciated this, saying that “Lori, the owner, is nice and her park is set up very nice.”

In order to help guests feel like they are at home and to help ensure that nothing disrupts that feeling, there are a few important policies that Lori asks visitors to abide by while staying at the Enlow RV Park. Some of these policies include that all patrons make sure that their site is kept clean by throwing away any trash that they may accumulate in the on-site dumpster and observing the property’s quiet time from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. People are allowed to bring their pets with them so long as they are kept on a leash at all times and are picked up after. Those who may desire a long-term stay are allowed to do so at the park as it is open year-round. Typically, the busiest seasons are between fall and winter, according to Lori.

History

The Enlow RV Park has been run by its owner, Lori Enlow, for eight years. Before it was established as an RV park in 2014, the property was used as a mobile home park. It was Lori who then bought the land and converted it into an RV park, adding the spaces and installing all the electrical, water, and sewer hookups. Lori is originally from northern Minnesota and she moved to the area to be closer to her husband’s family. She enjoys being able to meet new people and “see where they are coming from and going to.” As far as future plans for the property are concerned, Lori wants to be able to add bathroom and shower facilities for guests to use. These facilities would also have washers and dryers available for patrons to do their laundry.
