CVR Ranch (or Chuckwalla Valley Raceway Ranch) is located in Desert Center, California. The cabins/trailers offered at the site are a secondary feature compared to the various racetracks at CVR. The property is popular for its motorcycle tracks, specifically designed for easy learning. The landscape is barren, and Chuckwalla Valley Raceway is not particularly close to any major cities.
The cabins at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway are more akin to trailers, though they are arranged as cabins and have a handful of amenities. There are 40 in total, and each contains a bedroom, bathroom, and a small living room with a kitchenette. The cabins are 400 square feet in size. Queen-sized beds, refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, flat-screen TVs, utensils, and dishware are available in each trailer. Pet-friendly lodging is possible at CVR Ranch with a small additional fee. The trailers are designed for relatively short stays for those who are trying to take advantage of the raceway. The trailers and other RV space that CVR Ranch offers is mainly due to the fact that the raceway is around three and a half hours away from major cities in the southwestern United States. The property sits almost directly in the middle of Pheonix, Arizona; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Los Angeles and San Diego in California. CVR does have an airport on-site owing to this distancing. The closest city with restaurants and other marketplaces is Indio, which is an hour west of the property. The biggest draws of the property are the racetracks on-site. Motorcycle racing and events are of particular note at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. Due to the lack of surroundings, the area is flat and easy to traverse. New cyclists are able to learn how to do heavy leaning turns without fear of crashing into objects. The track is runnable either clockwise or counterclockwise. It was designed to be an authentic experience for beginning and veteran racers alike. Another prominent feature of the area is the Joshua Tree National Park, and the cabins at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway are some of the closest lodging available for the trip. Joshua Tree is named for the Joshua trees that are indigenous to the area.
Due to its unique nature, the culture of Chuckwalla Valley Raceway Ranch is that of adventure and racing. Though the cabins on-site are furnished with all of the standard amenities of a trailer park or campground, the property as a whole is not specifically designed for lodging. The focal point of CVR Ranch is the racetracks and providing good events for those who are visiting. They cater to both experienced and new crowds. If visitors have never ridden motorcycles/cars on a racetrack, they can hit the tracks at designated times in order to learn the processes involved. In the case of those who have already practiced their racing skills, competitions are frequently held at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway for both motorcycles and cars. In the event of an accident, there are always medical staff and an ambulance present on the premises to mitigate the effects of the moment. The track runs 2.68 miles and has 17 flowing corners (turns), each of which varies in its size and style. One of the only things that the area is notably known for is the heat. Southern California can produce scorching temperatures that can break 100 degrees Farenheight. Due to this, Chuckwalla Valley Raceway is closed in the summer months (June, July, and August). The property's best season of operation is from November to March. People often come to escape the heat, and because even in the middle of winter, the driving conditions on the track are safe.
Chuckwalla Valley Raceway Ranch has been in operation for five years, under the management of Mickey Grana. Before being converted into a campground/raceway, CVR was simply another stretch of desert land in southern California.
