According to the owner, Rindy, Site 94 tends to be one of the more popular locations to reserve because “it’s easy to pull through, and it’s right next to the bathhouse.”

The campground offers a store that sells live bait, camping items, apparel, snacks, and toiletries. Additionally, the property has a non-fishing serenity pond stocked with goldfish, which the owners feed daily. Other amenities that can be found include the campground’s pavilion, a swimming pool, playgrounds, basketball and volleyball courts, and disc golf. The pavilion is capable of hosting up to 100 people, and several walking trails can be found throughout the establishment.
Crow Valley Campground is located about five miles from central Sterling and Rock Falls. Rindy explains that the business is surrounded by forest and feels secluded but “is still easily accessible.” Also found nearby are several opportunities for patrons to participate in outdoor recreational activities. Rock River, which flows next to the campground, can give guests a chance to go fishing, kayaking, and boating, and people can go to Rock Falls for riverfront events and activities, including craft shows. Similarly, the Mississippi River is found about 30 minutes away by car and offers water recreational activities as well. There are a variety of historic locations in the vicinity. In Dixon, people can visit Ronald Reagan’s home from when he was a boy, or they can go to Tampico to see the house where Reagan was born. Further away, people can find Galena, which is about an hour and a half away and is known to have specialty shops and the home of President Grant’s house. Rindy also mentions that there are various restaurants in the area. A few that she likes to recommend to guests by name are Angelo’s Pizzeria and Arthur’s Garden Delicatessen.
The owners of Crow Valley Campground, Rindy and Scott, would like their guests to feel happy and safe while they are staying at the business. One way that they try to create a comfortable and safe environment for their patrons is that they try to be accommodating and make an effort to interact with visitors regularly. They strive to be available to help solve problems or answer questions that people may have.
There are several policies that have been implemented at Crow Valley Campground. As new owners, Rindy and Scott established the rule that no sex offenders are permitted to stay at the campground, and Rindy explains this is strictly enforced. The establishment strictly prohibits drugs and illegal substances and only allows medicinal marijuana if it is accompanied by proof of prescription. Pets are permitted, but they must be kept on a leash at all times, and the pet owner is required to clean up after them. The pets also can’t be aggressive and must have all of their shots. The staff also enforces quiet time, which begins at 10:00 p.m. every night except for Saturdays, which are extended to 11:00 p.m. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

Crow Valley Campground first opened to the public in 1973. According to Rindy and Scott, the current owners, the property had changed ownership six times before they finally purchased the business. Rindy mentions that they had “always dreamed of owning a campground” and were fortunate enough to have a friend, whose name was David Druen, who managed to get her in contact with the previous owner of the campground. Regarding the purchase, Rindy explains, “Drew gave [the previous owner] my phone number on Memorial Day weekend, and by Labor Day weekend, we owned the place.” They have been running the business for about ten years.
Rindy and Scott have made various changes and updates to the property, including adding more RV and tent spaces, upgrading the existing sites, installing updated electrical systems, and offering more activities for guests. In the future, the owners plan to maintain the campgrounds, add more campsites, and update the current ones. One amenity that they would like to add to the campground is another retention pond.
