Cedars Edge RV Resort

The Cedars Edge RV Resort is located on the outskirts of Ardmore, Oklahoma, to the east of nearby attraction Lake Murray State Park. Cedars Edge is home to 54 RV sites that come equipped with full hookups, namely water, sewer, 30/50 electric amps, and cable television. A maximum of 6 guests is allowed at each RV site, and up to two additional vehicles apart from a "recreational vehicle" can be parked at a given unit. Rates for daily, weekly, and monthly site reservations are offered at the establishment, with the average rate per day decreasing the longer a guest chooses to stay. One of the property's most defining features is its proximity to various local attractions, such as Lake Murray State Park, the Sunrise Swim Beach, the Lake Murray ATV Park, and Winstar World Casino. Open year-round, the Cedars Edge RV Resort sees the most visitors during the summer.

About

Located in the city limits of Ardmore, Oklahoma, the Cedars Edge RV Resort is a lodging establishment that is situated near a handful of local attractions. With a total of 54 RV sites spread across the property, the business acts as a way for people to experience the outdoor activities that the area has to offer. The most notable geographic feature nearby is Lake Murray, which in turn acts as the focal point of the Lake Murray State Park. With regard to aquatic diversions, visitors to the state park are able to utilize boat docks, boat ramps, and a swimming pool. Fishing is another specific activity that draws in a number of people each year, and some of the species that can be caught in Lake Murray include crappies, largemouth bass, sunfish, walleyes, and channel catfish. Pavilions, picnic areas (with corresponding picnic tables), playgrounds, and outdoor grills are spread throughout the park as well.

In the Cedars Edge RV Resort itself, guests have access to restrooms, shower facilities, laundry machines, and a dump site. Many of these amenities help to cater to patrons who stay for weeks or months at a time, which is made more desirable by means of the RV park's "grouped day" rates. For visitors who stay for a week or a month, the average rate per day is reduced significantly. Some of the features that are included with each unit are full hookups (water, sewer, and 30/50 amp electricity), access to the aforementioned dump site, Wi-Fi, and a cable TV hookup.

Both the Cedars Edge RV Resort and the surrounding area can be described as "partially wooded." Many cedar trees can be found throughout the RV park, especially around its perimeter. This is presumably why the park's name includes a reference to cedar trees. Cedars Edge is open year-round, and nearby Lake Murray experiences its highest amount of visitors during the summer, which in turn can increase the occupancy of the RV parks around it.

Those who work at the RV park recommend engaging in activities such as Sunset Swim Beach, Lake Murray State Park, Martin's Landing boat ramp and playground, and the Lake Murray ATV Park, all of which are within a few miles of the establishment. Foggy Bottom Kitchen and Café Alley are examples of local dining businesses that visitors to Cedars Edge can eat at during their stay.

Culture

Much of the culture surrounding the Cedars Edge RV Resort is linked to its proximity to a number of nature-based attractions. Lake Murray State Park is the most prominent activity in the vicinity, though beaches, boat ramps, and the Lake Murray ATV Park can also be found nearby. Regarding the park's location, one guest of the property stated, "Nice place to stay close to lake Murray and Ardmore. They have a nice park and laundry room. They also have showers and restrooms. They do have free Wi-Fi." Though the RV park is technically within the city limits of Ardmore, Oklahoma, the business is separated from the urban regions of the town by a significant margin. Its position east of Lake Murray allows it to act as a more central "home base" for its patrons, especially those hoping to participate in outdoor activities. Additionally, the park is reported to be "halfway between Oklahoma City and Dallas," as listed on the establishment's website.

A handful of guest reviews have been left for Cedars Edge RV Resort over the years, with most of them emphasizing the pricing of the sites, the park's location, and the facilities offered on-site. Management also recently changed at the RV park. One recent guest said, "The new owner is very kind and accommodating and obviously wants to make this place the best it can be. Park is quiet and residents and visitors are friendly and cordial. Nice laundry room with snacks and nice private shower/bathroom areas. Very clean."

Anyone wishing to make a reservation at the property should be aware of the rules that have been established for the park. Some of the more notable policies include the fact that RVs older than ten years need to be approved by park management, a maximum of six people are allowed per RV site, and open campfires are "prohibited on the grounds." Pets are permitted at Cedars Edge RV Resort, and a fenced dog park is provided for taking pets on walks. It should be noted, however, that all pets must undergo approval by park management and should be kept on a leash at all times.

History

Estimated to be approximately 10 years old, the Cedars Edge RV Resort has a relatively short and simple history. One of the primary reasons why the RV park was created involved the site's proximity to Lake Murray State Park. Sensing the potential for a successful business venture, unknown individuals converted the land into an RV park. Some years ago, the park was sold to an owner who replaced and updated many of the facilities that were located on-site. More recently, he sold it to the people who currently manage the property.

Some of the oldest reviews of the property date back to 2016, though a majority of the park's reviews did not appear until 2018. Generally speaking, the rating that patrons have given the RV park has improved over time, likely due to changes in management and subsequent renovations of park facilities.
