Cedar Trail RV Park

Cedar Trail RV Park

Cedar Trail RV Park is open year-round, offering 86 RV sites for visitors to reserve. The current owners are the original owners who developed the RV park, and they recently acquired the acreage at the beginning of 2022. Many of the renovations that they have made to the property since gaining ownership are intended to add to visitors' experience at the park, such as the on-site mail pickup area for long-term guests and the laundry facility. Outside the borders of the Cedar Trail RV Park, visitors can engage in outdoor recreation or visit natural land features such as Uchee Creek and the Chattahoochee River Walk. Beyond these attractions, the owner remarks that one of the main draws for tourism in the area is the military base that can be found nearby.

About

Cedar Trail RV Park, neighboring the eastern border between Alabama and Georgia, is located in Fort Mitchell, Alabama. Situated on the expanse of nearly 40 acres of land, the property features 86 sites on 12 developed acres. The owners are hoping to carry through with plans to construct more sites in order to have 205 total throughout the 40 acres that they own. Both short-term and long-term stays are available at the park. Every rentable space offers 20, 30, and 50 amp service, as well as water and sewer, and visitors can park their RVs on the gravel pad of their site. Each space allows parking for one RV and up to two vehicles. In addition to the sites, a laundry facility and main office are available to guests during their stay, both of which are joined in the same building on the premises. A BBQ and picnic area is also provided for community use to all patrons staying at the park.

Woodlands and forested areas characterize a considerable portion of the surrounding environment. A few natural features such as Uchee Creek, for example, can also be found near the RV park. Patrons who are hoping to spend time outdoors can engage in recreation at Flat Rock Park, which provides opportunities for fishing or biking. The owners mention that one of the biggest draws for tourism in the area is the military base that is situated by the property. The back gate of the base, in particular, is in close proximity to the RV park. A few other attractions within the surroundings include the Chattahoochee River Walk, which is an area that contains several restaurants, Phoenix City to the north of the property, water rafting, and archery. Patrons who take interest in historical attractions may be directed to Historic Westville, a 19th-century-themed museum. For those who are searching for places to eat, the owners recommend Susie's Fort Mitchell Grill and T-Bones Steakhouse and Grill. Visitors can view Cedar Trail RV Park's website to be informed about more things to do in the area.

Culture

Cedar Trail RV Park implements a few policies that patrons are expected to act in accordance with during their time at the property. Pets are welcome to join their owners at the RV park, however, they cannot roam freely on the premises and must be leashed at all times. Visitors are also required to pick up after their pets. For hygienic purposes, trash cans and trash bags are not permitted outside guests' RVs, as there are provided trash collection areas and trash bins in various parts of the park. With respect to other guests, loud music is prohibited in any of the RVs or vehicles. Lastly, the owner notes to all patrons that, "any guests you bring are your responsibility during your time in the park."

Though Cedar Trail RV Park may not host events of its own, the local area holds events such as the archery contest, for example, which occurs every fall. The owner mentions that this particular event draws a fair amount of short-term tourists. Many of the short-term visitors who stay at Cedar Trail RV Park are also families of military base workers. The owners categorize the general demographic of those who visit the property to be primarily military base workers, contract workers, and those of relation to the nearby military base. Additionally, a number of river rafters also stay at Cedar Trail RV Park.

The owners of the park have the goal to allow their guests to "have a safe and peaceful experience." They hope to provide an atmosphere where visitors can "feel like they can relax and unwind." He explains that the creeks, hiking, and fishing in the area are all things to be enjoyed, and he says that he "wants [guests] to be able to feel like they have a place away from home that they can come to for years to come." The design of the encompassing environment of the park is one particular aspect of the property that the owners believe may add to the guests' stay, namely the shaded areas that several trees provide, the spaces between each site that can allow occupants to spread out, and other accommodations throughout the park. "We are particular about the way we maintain things," one of the owners remarks, meaning that they put forth effort into the overall upkeep of the property whether by standard maintenance or by basic hygienic practices. One guest who had previously stayed at the park commented, "Very friendly staff, the maintenance man cleaned up a great spot for me quickly."

History

Cedar Trail RV Park was purchased by the original and current owners at the beginning of 2022. The owners were led to Cedar Trail RV Park as they had previously purchased a park down the street from it less than a mile away. They owned this other property for about one year prior to acquiring the acreage for Cedar Trail RV Park, which had formerly been a mobile home park. After the removal of the mobile homes, the owners began renovating the property. Updates had been done to the roads that wind through the acreage, crushed asphalt was added to each site, as well as a new 20, 30, and 50 amp breaker for every rentable space. All of the hookups are new, and the owners also added a fence around the developed portion of the acreage. With the intent to add to the experience for future guests, the owners also added a mailbox area where long-term visitors can receive their mail. Additionally, the laundry area was another amenity added for guest use.

Being involved in the hospitality industry was considered a "small project," according to one of the owners, as he explains a few of their future plans that are in store for Cedar Trail RV Park. One particular plan for the property is the dog park that is currently in the making. Furthermore, as previously mentioned, the owners also hope to have 205 sites in total across the 40-acre land.
