When patrons first arrive at the property, they are able to choose any site they prefer to stay at. All of the RV sites are pull-through and include 30 and 50 amp hookups. Unique features on the property include a pond with a trail network behind it that leads to a river. The pond has many cattails and can provides the opportunity for patrons to view wildlife such as ducks. According to the management team, popular activities to participate in at the park include walking dogs, fishing in the pond, and stargazing at night. He says that the establishment turns off all the lights at night to provide a better view of the stars, and people often engage in star photography on the property.

Buildings on the property include a bathroom, shower house, shed, and a utility office. Amenities on the property offered to visitors include the bathroom and showers as well as Wi-Fi throughout the land. Additionally, specific features to each site include a firepit and tables. During the wintertime, the water is shut off between 9:00 PM to 8 AM due to freezing temperatures.

In Bluff, Utah, there is an annual balloon fest that happens every year where visitors can come see hot air balloons getting launched. Every October, there is also a Bluff Arts Festival and occasionally a solstice party in the area. The owner describes his property as “low-key” regarding policies but notes that pets are allowed on a leash, and smoking is allowed as well, as long as smokers are courteous of other guests. The goal of the RV park is to have patrons feel welcomed. The staff strives to be friendly and open to helping others in hopes of accomplishing this goal. Interaction between visitors and the staff varies, but they will usually have at least one interaction during their stay. One patron remarked that “The host is incredibly helpful and kind. The showers are clean, Wi-Fi was fast, and the location offered good views of the area.” There is a wide variety in the demographics of guests to stay at the Cadillac Ranch RV Park, including a relatively large amount of families. The park tends to have an abundance of snowbirds who come to the establishment about twice a year. These visitors make up a large number of business' repeat visitors.

He says this is unique because other parks usually don’t have all of their sites as pull-through. The park is open year-round to visitors, with the business being the busiest through the shoulder months of March, April, May, August, September, and October. One guest said they “loved how hassle-free the bookings were, as well as the nice and quiet of the park. There are beautiful bluffs in two directions, and it was exactly what we needed. The place is puppy friendly and has nice places to walk.”

The area has a museum, the Bluff Fort Historic Site, which is designated on the history of the early Latter-day Saint Pioneers who came over from Escalante. Other attractions in the surrounding location include archeology findings, petroglyphs, and natural history found in the land. Some outdoor recreational activities include hiking and river rafting. The premises of the RV park is located 45 minutes away from Monument Valley and under two hours from Moab, Arches National Park, Four Corners, and Canyonlands National Park. The owner says that the area is undiscovered, which provides a remote destination that is not too busy. Places that management team specifically recommends for visitors to the area are Butler Wash Anasazi Ruins; which has a hike attached to it, and Comb Ridge; which has ancient ruins. Restaurants that the ownership recommends include Comb Ridge Eat and Drink, Twin Rocks Cafe, Duke’s, and Cottonwood Steakhouse Inc.

History

The Cadillac Ranch RV Park has been in operation since the 1990s, and was recently bought by the current owners in 2017. They were visiting RV parks themselves when they first saw the Cadillac Ranch. When they noticed that it was for sale, they decided to buy it. The manager says that they “lucked into it” more than anything else. Meeting new people is his favorite part of the job, saying that people are “genuinely awesome.” He has met visitors from all over the world and has had the opportunity to learn their stories.

Changes that have been made to the property since the owner purchased the property include updating the bathrooms, ground maintenance, and improving the internet connection. Future plans include adding eight additional sites to the grounds and more facilities.
