Busters Private RV Park

Busters Private RV Park

Buster's Private RV Park is located in between the cities of Center and Saint Augustine, Texas, which are found near the border of Texas and Louisiana. The RV park has eight RV spaces available year-round, all of which come with sewage, water, and electrical hookups. The business is located in a more rural location and is found in close approximation to two large lakes known as Sam Rayburn Lake and Toledo Bend Reservoir, allowing guests the opportunity to take part in water-based activities. Buster, the owner of the RV park, tries to create a laid-back environment to help people have a more enjoyable time while they are visiting the area.

About

Buster's Private RV Park has a total of eight RV sites available for people to reserve. Seven of them are pull-through spaces, while one is back-in only. Regardless of which place a guest decides to occupy, each one comes with full hookups, including water, sewage, and electricity. Four of the RV slots come with 50 AMPs, but the other four only have 30 AMP hookups. The owner mentions that he has one camper vehicle that can be rented out to guests if they don't have one of their own when they get to the property. There are currently no bathroom facilities on the grounds, but the owner mentions that, in the future, he plans on adding some. There are no common areas within the property, so he would also like to add an outdoor kitchen area for guests to use.

The property is located between two large lakes, Toledo Bend Reservoir and Sam Rayburn Lake. According to the business owner, Buster, they are the two largest lakes in the state of Texas. A variety of activities can be done at these lakes, including swimming, fishing, boating, and more. Toledo Bend Reservoir, located east of Buster's Private RV Park, and Sam Rayburn Lake, located southwest of the business, are roughly 35 minutes away by car. San Augustine is about a ten-minute drive south of the RV park and, according to the owner, is one of the first towns to be established in Texas. The two larger towns that are closest to Buster's Private RV Park, San Augustine and Center, usually have sporting events occurring, most often in the fall.

Buster likes to recommend several places to people who are looking for somewhere to get a meal. El Potosino is a restaurant that is located in San Augustine and offers a variety of Mexican food. Another restaurant that he likes to tell visitors about is called Mark Henry's, which is also in San Augustine and serves ice cream, burgers, nachos, and Tex-Mex-style dishes.

Culture

Buster, the owner of Buster's Private RV Park, would like his guests to feel comfortable during their stay. One way he tries to achieve his goal is to create a laid-back atmosphere. He mentions that he will usually interact with his patrons on a regular basis and catch up with them.

Guests do not typically stay at Buster's Private RV Park for on-site events or activities (due to a relatively small variety of such features) but rather for the events that are held in town. The owner lives across the road and asks that people keep the noise down and be respectful of others in the area. According to him, many of the people that stay are workers, and "some of them work during the day and some of them work during the night, so just try to be respectful of their time."
Many guests who stay at the property are construction workers and people working in the gas and oil industry that are staying for more extended periods of time. People typically stay on a monthly basis, but Buster's Private RV Park is able to do short-term stays for those who are just passing through the area. Visitors who are only planning on being in town for a few days are typically there to visit the surrounding cities, which can host several events throughout the year. Buster mentions that the business remains consistently busy throughout the year and that he receives many repeat guests. One thing that helps keep the business steady year-round is that the winters remain relatively warm.

In the time the business has been open, many people have made reservations at the RV park. A few of them have left reviews of their experiences and mentioned aspects of the property such as the location, the amenities offered, and the environment the owner has created for the establishment. One person wrote, "We parked our RV there while looking to buy some property in the area. The park is just a small lot across from the owners' homes, but it has full hookups with sewer and Wi-Fi and is located on a quiet and private road."

History

Buster's Private RV Park has been in business for about ten years, and the company's current owner is also responsible for starting the RV park in the first place. Buster, the owner, explains that his favorite part of the job is having the freedom to run the business how he would like and not have to take orders from someone else. He explains that it allows him to create the environment to his preference and better help people unwind while they are staying at his property.

Buster was led into the lodging industry when his son-in-law was visiting one day. At the time, Buster had been recovering from back surgery. His son-in-law approached him with the offer to try running an RV park, explaining that there was ample opportunity to create one in the space close to their home. Buster liked the idea, and they began making preparations for the new business. It also allowed him to have some form of work while he was recovering from the surgery.

Before the land had been converted into an RV park, it was nothing more than a wooded area with trees. When the business first began, it started with making spaces for people to park their RVs. Then, they added the power, sewage, and water hookups to each site they created. In the future, Buster plans on adding a shower house and a kitchen with a wash area for guests to use, which would give them the option to use facilities other than what their own RVs have. Eventually, he would also like to add some covered places for vehicles to park during the hotter days in the summer and areas for patrons to have some shade if they would like to spend time outside.
