Brundage Bungalows

The Brundage Bungalows is located in McCall, Idaho. The property where the 9 cabins reside is on about an acre of land and is surrounded mostly by trees and grass. The business has been lodging guests for over 50 years now and has been continually growing. Troy, the current owner of Brundage Bungalows, recently renovated the cabins and some other parts of the property, helping it to be more up-to-date and welcoming to those who lodge there. Visitors to the property will find the unique and signature look of green and red cabins that the business is known for. Guests can spend time on the property in a selection of cabins of different sizes and various amounts of rooms to help accommodate their stay.

About

The Brundage Bungalows can be described as a unique property because of their cabins. The property is located somewhat in the middle of a small neighborhood, but when a guest arrives at the property, they pull in to a different environment than the rest of the homes surrounding the area. Instead of being at a standard living space, guests are invited into a "mountainside experience." 9 cabins take up the space at which Brundage Bungalows occupies, all of which are either studio, one room, or three-bedroom cabins. Of the three choices, guests have often chosen to stay in the studio cabins because of the relatively secluded feeling that a visitor might experience in the units.

The nine cabins on-site all have green pine walls to help contribute to the feeling of being in the mountains. Apart from the green walls, each cabin has a red roof, which helps the property to stick out to those who are looking for a place to stay. The uniqueness of the cabins' appearance and the variety of choices in which guests can stay are some factors as to why this property has a lot of guests come and stay. Recently these cabins were all renovated as well, helping to keep them up to date and within the standards of the staff.

After being renovated, Each cabin has more space than they had beforehand. They also have newly upgraded kitchens in each one and granite countertops. There are wood or electric fireplaces, air conditioning, a 32-inch flat-screen TV with DVD players in each, HD cables, and free Wi-Fi. There are also some picnic tables on the grounds for guests to use if they would like to eat outside or spend time outside with their friends or family members.

Parking is provided for guests so that they will be able to worry less about where to leave their cars. The property has two entrances and space for multiple people to be there at the same time with their respective vehicles. Guests can feel free to leave their vehicles on the property and simply walk to the lake that is in front of the grounds if they would prefer to do so.

Culture

Troy, the owner of the property, and his staff strive to help their guests to feel like they are at home when they stay at their property. Their main strategy in helping their guests feel this way is by trying to keep the cabins that they provide up to date and clean. In the past few years, they have renovated their cabins twice, and there have been positive reviews made by guests because of it. One guest wrote the following review regarding their time there: "Great property. Full kitchen amenities and in a great location. Very modern and clean." Another guest mentioned that "the cabins were very clean, had comfortable beds, and easy no-hassle check-in or check-out."

Brundage Bungalows is located almost directly on the lakefront of Payette Lake. The buildings that are around the property of the cabins are mostly residential homes, though there are a few businesses around, which could be convenient to guests who would like to make some last-minute purchases or who would enjoy a night out at a restaurant or a museum with their friends or family. Troy recommends a few of these places to his guests to go and eat at. One of these is Growlers, which is a pizza grill local to McCall. Another is McCall Brewing, which has been reported to have high-end beer.

If guests are looking for other more recreational things to do in the area, they can find that Brundage Mountain and Payette Lake have various attractions. Guests in the past have gone hiking in the mountains, exploring the various trails, or they have come in the winter and decided to ski or snowboard down the snowdrifts. Other guests have enjoyed spending time out on the lake boating, swimming, or simply sitting in the sun. Besides these activities, there are plenty of others that guests have found enjoyable in this area.

History

The property of Brundage Bungalows has been around for many years. In the middle of the 1900s is when this property came into existence. It was first run by family after family until it was given to an investor. After the investor was finished with his time there, Troy bought the property. As of the last 9 years, Troy has been the owner, and he remains the current owner of the property today.

Troy has made many changes to the property since buying it. Most of these changes consist of renovations and updates to the cabins. He says that he "rebuilt the cabins from the ground up," only leaving the walls and roof on them but changing everything else. All electrical, power lines, sewer pipes, insulation, and more have been replaced or updated. The kitchens were updated with new counters, cabinets, and a few other things because Troy didn't think they were what guests would appreciate most. Troy has a few more plans for the property while he is in charge of it. More updates will come to the current cabins, but he also hopes to provide guests with a couple more cabins that they can use in the future. These cabins will also be built in hopes that more people will come and stay at the property.
