Branson's Resort has been in business for over 70 years. It was one of the first campgrounds along the Parker Strip on the Colorado River. The original owners were John and Jeanne Branson. John and Jeanne Branson are referred to as "local legends" in Parker. Jeanne was known for her spit-fire personality by many of the people who interacted with her. She was a hunting guide with a rare achievement of killing a seven-foot Kodiak bear with one shot.
An innovator and businesswoman, it was Jeanne who started Branson's Resort. She and her husband bought the river property and enjoyed plenty of the activities with water that guests participate in today. Jeanne told everyone she cared very much for her campground and got many people to come and see what she loved so much. Jeanne was a fighter and a go-getter. She didn't rest until the day she died at 95 years old. Branson's Resort has remained in the family since that time and continues to try to live out her legacy. The current owner is now Debra.
