Orin Mallette, a registered blacksmith at the time, owned over 110-acres of land throughout the early 1900s. This is where the 4k River Ranch originated from. Mallette sold this property to Santiago Ortega, whose family kept the property in their name until 1936. After going through many different trials but also making much use of the land, the Ortega family sold the land. It was sold to L.S. Lewis, who established a resort there, titling it "Lewis Ranch." The cabins that L.S. Lewis had built on the property are the cabins that are still in use today at the RV park. The property was later bought by the Luce family in the 1950s, who then sold it to the Hafley family in 1994. Paulette and Randall Kiker, the current owners of 4k River Ranch, then bought the property in 2019. Pictures taken throughout the history of this property can be found on 4k River Ranch's website.
